Hermes 1

Hermes

I am Hermes, Greek god of shepherds, travel, merchants, athletics, and thieves, while also messenger to the Gods of Olympus. I have blond hair, and have sharp facial features. I dress in a tunic, winged shoes, and a winged helmet. I also carry a staff given to me by Apollo in return for a musical instrument called a lyre. My parents are Zeus and the nymph Maia, who is one of the Pleiades. I have three sons, Pan, Abderus, and Hermaphroditus, though I have no specific wife. I am cunning, giving me an advantage as a thief and also as a merchant. This cunning helped me avoid trouble when I stole some of Apollo's cows when I was a baby. Some of my powers are great speed and strength, making me a perfect messenger. I don't really have any major weakness, and am a jack of all trades.

  1. No weaknesses huh? You sound like an great trickster. Did Apollo ever forgive you for steeling his cow? Do you ever get bored just sending other people's messages around?

  3. We are both tricksters, and it seems as if there are tricksters in almost every mythology.

  4. Fiona- Yes Apollo forgave me because I invented the lyre and gave it to him. Now we are great friends :)
Allie- Technically I only stole once, and that was Apollo's cows.

  5. Having shoes to fly sounds much more reasonable than a cloud. Also more stylish than a cloud.
